This page has the answers to the questions we get most often. Can’t find yours? Email or message us, we’re happy to help.
Booking & availability
How do I book a pitch?
The easiest way is to book online at www.ijsselhoeve.nu/reserveren. Your spot is reserved straight away.
Can I check availability?
Yes, on the booking page. You’ll see which dates are still free at a glance.
I can’t book a particular date on the site. Are you fully booked?
Not necessarily. Sometimes there are still options open that briefly lock the calendar. Send us a message at info@ijsselhoeve.nu or WhatsApp 06 27 10 46 87 and we’ll check with you.
Can we come as a group?
Small groups of up to 10 people are welcome. It works best if each family or couple books their own pitch online, so we have everyone’s details. For larger groups, more than 10 people, we’re sadly not the right place. Our site is small and made for calm and space; we’ve found that bigger groups, however lovely, don’t quite fit.
Can we stay together as a group?
We’ll certainly try, but we can’t guarantee it because everyone who arrives gets to choose their own spot. Mention it in the comments when you book and we’ll see what we can do.
Do you offer seasonal or permanent pitches?
Sadly, we don’t. Our maximum stay is one month.
Can I store my caravan or shepherd’s hut with you?
Sadly, we don’t have the space for that.
Rates
What does a night with you cost?
All current rates, for the pitch, the hiker’s pitch, the shepherd’s huts and the tiny house, are listed clearly together on our rates page. When you book online you always see the current price and availability.
Arrival & departure
What time can I arrive, and when do I need to leave?
Arrival is from 1:00 pm. Departure for the pitches please before 12:00 pm, for the shepherd’s huts and the tiny house before 11:00 am.
Can I choose my own pitch?
Yes, you can pick your own spot. Do come and check in with us first. There’s a video doorbell on the yard so you can reach us any time. Got a preference? Let us know in the booking comments.
How and when do I pay?
You can pay online in advance (a deposit or the full amount); we’d recommend that. But you can also pay on arrival, by card or in cash.
Facilities
Is there electricity?
All pitches have an electricity connection. Hiker’s pitches don’t have electricity, but you can charge your phone and/or bike in the sanitary building.
Is there wifi?
Yes, free wifi at the campsite. The network is called Camping Wifi and has no password. In the sheep barn there’s also wifi: IJsselhoeve Gast, password welkom99.
What about showers and sanitary facilities?
Showering is free, no tokens needed. The sanitary building has four showers. In the sheep barn there’s an extra shower and extra toilets.
Can I have a barbecue?
Yes, a BBQ is fine. Just keep an eye on the smoke for your neighbours.
Can I light a (camp)fire?
Please ask first. It’s possible, but let us know in advance and bring your own fire pit.
Dogs
Are dogs welcome?
Dogs are welcome on the campsite, on a lead, with a small surcharge per night. Pets are sadly not allowed in the shepherd’s huts and accommodations.
Atmosphere
What sort of campsite are you?
A small, quiet mini-campsite on the Geldersedijk between Zalk and Hattem, with farmland on one side and the IJssel on the other. A place to unwind. We deliberately keep the evenings calm: from 10:00 pm please quiet, from 11:00 pm silent. Not a campsite for a party, but very much one for those who love quiet and nature.
Around us
Where exactly are you?
Geldersedijk 99, 8051 SE Hattem. From the A28 take the Zwolle/Hattem exit. Cross the bridge and at the traffic lights turn right towards Zalk. After 2.5 km along the dike you’ll see us on your left.
Are you right on the water?
Not quite. There’s a strip of floodplain between the campsite and the river. But you can walk there in no time: a short way to the left along the dike, towards the pumping station, then onto the path that leads to the IJssel. From there you can also walk the Boots Path, a lovely walk through the river landscape around Zalk.
Can I swim nearby?
Yes, there are several swimming spots in the area: Wijthmenerplas, Heerderstrand, Agnietenplas, and at Zalk a small river beach by the IJssel (next to the ferry to ‘s-Heerenbroek).
Do you rent out bikes?
No, we don’t rent bikes. In Hattem (5 km) there are bike shops where you can hire one.
Is there a shop or restaurant nearby?
In Zalk (2.5 km) there’s Eethuis De Oase, where you can eat well. You can also order via Thuisbezorgd.
Contact & getting in touch
What’s the best way to reach you?
A WhatsApp message (06 27 10 46 87) gets the fastest reply. You can also email (info@ijsselhoeve.nu). We’re not available by phone except in emergencies. Once you’re on the campsite? We’re easy to find on the grounds.
